ABOUT
ELENA HEBDEN
My name is Elena (Ellie) Hebden and I am currently in my fifth year of study at the University of Technology Sydney. I am studying a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) majoring in Mechatronic engineering and a Bachelor of Medical Science.
Combining these two degrees, I hope to specialise in the field of biomechatronics. I am passionate about this field as it combines my interests in helping others and problem-solving.
I have always enjoyed science throughout my early education, but I became particularly interested in engineering after joining the USYD FRC robotics team. After my first year on the team helping with the mechanical side of creating a robot, I went on to be the Captain of the team during my last year of high school. This experience grew my passion for engineering problem solving and I was constantly surrounded my industry mentors to inspire me. I decided to combine my mechatronics degree with medical science as I was particularly interested in the medical applications of robotics. However, I wanted to learn about mechatronics slightly more in-depth than a biomedical degree would have allowed me.
